Here's a Poem I Wrote in Middle School

Do you daydream of cantaloupe, bursting with rich orange flesh?
Or do you prefer those crunchy casabas, golden as sunshine when fresh?
Maybe it’s emerald honeydews, the glistening, soft juicy kind,
That rouse your insides to relish and quiver at even the scent of the rind.
With cantaloupe joined, what a heavenly match! From fruit bowls to drinks and snacks,
Bring them along for every occasion, to quell those melon attacks.
These are the foods of godhood, no doubt, not the lotus or nectar sublime.
Try some chameh, but patience preserve, remember: one bite at a time!
But watermelons … are simply the best, I’ll gleefully have to admit.
They’re hardy yet oh, so supple, they are; to melons I promptly submit.
From Klondike and Peacock and Charleston Gray, to neat Triple Sweet, which is seedless,
Such various melons, you ignorant lot, insist that you stop being heedless.
I’ll munch upon melons, in season and out, all day, even all the night long.
The crack of cool rinds, the dribbling of fruit, ring boldly, a rapturous song.
O beautiful melons, the first fruits of joy! For melons, I’ll rise up and stand.
Sumptuous, succulent, savory sweet; it’s melons indeed I demand!

I was a weirdo from a very early age.     - Scott
